Hey guys, I have such a delicious vegan burger recipe for you. As a burger patty base I used chickpeas. You can replace them with basically any kind of bean or lentil. You can mash them up with quinoa or sweet potato too. I love my burger with fresh salad and some fresh avocado. We crave spicy foods, so a burger without chili? No way.
for 2-4; vegan
200 to 300 grams of dried chickpeas
2 handfuls of sunflower seeds
red bell pepper powder
2 tablespoons of flower
HOT TOMATO SAUCE
about 14 cherry tomatoes
4 garlic gloves
3 spring onions
on chili pepper
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
4 cherry tomatoes
+ bread rolls of your choice
1. Let chickpeas soak in water over night. The next day boil them for about 1 hour, until they are soft. Drain, and crush in food processor with sunflower seeds, a pinch of salt, nutritional yeast, curry and red bell pepper powder. Bring mass into bowl and add a dash of water and flour, knead into equally sized patties and cover with flour. Fry with olive oil and drain off the excess oil.
2. Cut ingredients but chili peppers for the hot sauce into tiny pieces and fry for about 10 minutes. Add chili peppers and let simmer for another 2 minutes. Bring into blender and mix finely.
3. Prepare avocados, cherry tomatoes, bread and salad for the ultimative burger experience.
4. Make yourself a burger, or two. Enjoy.
Chili peppers, despite their „hotness“ are one of very popular spices known for their medical and health benefiting properties. They contain an impressive list of plant derived chemical compounds that are known to have disease preventing and health promoting properties. Capsaicin has antibacterial, anti-carcinogenic, analgesic and anti-diabetic properties. Fresh red and green chili peppers are rich source of vitamin C, they also contain a good amount of minerals like iron and magnesium.
