Dear matcha enthusiasts, did you already have your cup of green powdered gold today? Yes? Still haven’t had enough? Try matcha infused oats. (Note: This dish totally looks like Wilson, the volleyball from Cast Away.) I have always been a fan of green tea, I have been drinking gunpowder tea for the last couple of months, a green tea with a thick and smokey flavor. What a lovely surprise that KISSA contacted me to see if I was up for trying out some of their products. Of course I was – I love to discover new products, I mean girl gotta satisfy that hunger of curiosity.
I tried out all kinds of recipes with all kinds of tea flavors. Black tea, roibos, matcha. I made lots of iced lattes, regular hot matcha, matcha smoothies, and so on. All damn good. Today was a cold and comfy Sunday, and I didn’t feel like making an effort. All I wanted was a warm and healthy breakfast to start the day. So a quick oat meal and fresh fruit was the right decision. New recipes don’t always have to be super sophisticated. Today I am gonna keep it simple. I am gonna have this yummy breakfast and I am gonna stay in bed and read The Starch Solution. I am so thankful every time it rains, the perfect excuse not to care. The dogs seem ok with staying home too. Back to the tealicious things in life. I guess you are probably thinking „what exactly is matcha and do I really need something like that?!“. Well, probably not, but if you love power foods that keep you young and healthy you can give it a try. I love how calm, awake and concentrated it makes me. The taste is pretty awesome as well. The first sip was honestly very strange, the second one soothing and by the third one I was sold. The KISSA product I am gonna spend most time with is SUPERMODEL’S SECRET. Ha! We are planing on going to Costa Rica next February, so this name better delivers what it promises. Jk. Btw, they have such catchy phrases:
„Our SUPERMODEL’S SECRET is an open secret: it pampers your body and gives it what it needs for great skin, healthy hair and a brilliant appearance.“
„You will never forget your first KISSA.“
So if you are looking for a yummy matcha, why not go for KISSA?! It is (of course) vegan, 100% organic, handpicked and natural. Thomas Grömer is Austria’s only trained expert for Japanese teas, which makes KISSA a young and innovative Austrian company, which only uses Japanese matcha and big plus: it comes with the cutest packaging. You know, I am turning 25 this November and I love to get older and wiser, (seriously can’t wait for my hair to turn white) but honestly you guys, I do feel like taking good care of body because at the end of the day our bodies are the only true home we have. I didn’t go vegan for health reasons at first, but I am glad it turned out to have such great benefits on my overall well being. Native oils for the skin, mild exercise and meditation are part of my life already, some extra antioxidants won’t hurt either. Welcome matcha, you came to stay.

Matcha Tea Powder is the finest ground green tea, grown for an extremely long time in shaded areas. Authentic matcha is always from Japan and it has always been known for its amazingly revitalizing effects. It is made from nutrient-rich young leaves picked from the tips of shade-grown Camellia sinensis plants. Matcha is the highest quality powdered tea available, a long standing tradition of Japanese culture. It is high in antioxidants, which are nutrients and enzymes responsible for fighting against the negative effects of UV radiation, giving us younger looking skin and preventing a number of life-threatening maladies. For over a millennium, Matcha has been used by monks and samurai as a means to relax and meditate while remaining alert due to its energizing properties (amino acid L-Theanine). It also increases memory, concentration, energy levels and endurance. Another great benefit is the fact that it has been shown to increase metabolism and help the body burn fat about four times faster than average, without having negative side-effects such as increased heart rate and high blood pressure. Moreover it detoxifies the body and fortifies the Immune system. Read more here.
Goji berries contain all essential amino acids and they have the highest concentration of protein in any fruit. They are loaded with vitamin C, iron and contain natural anti-inflammatory compounds. In traditional Chinese medicine, the goji is said to act on the kidney and liver meridians to help with lower back pain, dizziness and eyesight.
I mean just look at it. This is Wilson.
